Green Energy

I've been seeing a lot of advancements in clean technology, but making something eco friendly does not necessarily make it the best solution.  Although we must get rid of polluting vehicles urgently, environmental technologists must be smart about which technologies to develop.

Take for example Nuclear Energy, a very clean energy that lasts forever.  This sounds really great, but the problem is that once a nuclear power plant has begun the process it can't be stopped.  Then if something were to happen to the power plant we would have a leak of radiation causing people to grow a third arm (its a possibility).  This problem has been seen in Japan after the earthquake, and engineers have yet to fix the problem.

For this reason using natural energy is probably the way to go.  Harnessing the wing, the ocean, and the sun by making wind mill, water turbines, and solar tower, but most of these technologies must Go Green.  When I say Go Green I mean that they have to get smarter, more useful and convienient.  Building thousands of windmills would be tedious and would make the environment cramped.  Building giant wind mills that could produce the same output as hundreds or thousand of wind mills would be spectacular.  Each giant wind mill would be a monument and a new symbol of hope for a cleaner future.

  1. Hey Edgar, its Logan, great post and idea! Being "Green" is a very important thing to do in this day and age and it is our job to keep the enviorment for our kids and the generations to follow. The enviorment is so beautiful, it is important that we create energy that is not a harm for the world that we live in. Green Energy, as probably I have already insinuated, is a good idea, but it is easier said than done. There are many options, but the amount of energy needed to produce in our society has come up short in our recent attempts. Electricity is causing blackouts, algae and vegetable oil are hard to get and some say does not create enough energy, and I have heard windmill and solar power has come up very short as well. Anyway, it is a gradual process and I cannot wait for new ideas and innovations to make these more enrgy sufficient. Great article!

  2. I truly agree with you that Natural Energy is the way to go. The problem with Nuclear Energy is that it is to dangerous to make in power plants. For example the whole Japan disaster that you mentioned but also the chernobyl accident that happened in Ukraine which is considered the worst nuclear disaster in the history of the world. Nuclear Energy has killed thousands of people and if we continue using it another disaster could happened. That is why I fully agree with you on natural energy because it is safer for society and the environment.
